Receptive, Expressive, and Pragmatic Language

At Speech Banannie Services, we offer comprehensive language therapy to support the development of receptive, expressive, and pragmatic language skills—essential building blocks for confident communication.

Children with receptive language delays may have difficulty understanding spoken language, following directions, or grasping new concepts. Expressive language challenges can make it hard for children to use words, form sentences, or clearly express their thoughts and needs. Pragmatic language involves the social use of language—knowing how to start a conversation, take turns, stay on topic, and read nonverbal cues. Difficulties in this area can affect peer relationships and participation in everyday interactions.

Our therapy sessions are individualized, engaging, and rooted in evidence-based practices. Using a mix of structured activities, play-based learning, and real-world scenarios, we help children build the skills they need to understand, express, and connect with those around them—at home, in the classroom, and in their communities.
